A DAY TO LONG FOR

"Then the seventh angel blew his trumpet and there were loud voices shouting in heaven, "The whole world has now become the kingdom of our Lord and of His Christ and He will reign forever and ever. And the twenty-four elders sitting on their thrones before God fell on their faces and worshipped Him. And they said, "We give thanks to You, Lord God Almighty, the One who is and who always was, for now You have assumed Your great power and have begun to reign. The nations were angry with You but now the time of Your wrath has come. It is a time to judge the dead and reward Your servants. You will reward Your prophets and Your holy people, all who fear Your name, from the least to the greatest. And You will destroy all who have caused destruction on the earth." Revelation 11:15-18

As I read and watch the news every day, I get ever increasingly upset at the world we live in. So much lawlessness, conflict, immorality, and death happening every day, most of it completely senseless. In fact, so many people today have just simply lost their senses. They’ve lost their minds but also their souls along the way. It’s enough to have you yearn for a time when justice and righteousness rule supreme.

Well, the good news is that the day is coming so we need not lose hope. God’s word has given us the assurance that our Savior, Jesus Christ, is returning to earth…returning to take His own to be with Him and the Father in a new kingdom. The world as we know it will end and so will evil, sin, and all the by products of both. Now that is a day to long for and we must do so in patient anticipation until that seventh trumpet sounds and the world becomes the kingdom of God and His Son. Their reign will last forever from that day forth.

Question: Have you chosen Jesus as your heart’s desire instead of the world and its enticements? Will you be at peace or in fear when the seventh trumpet sounds? Will you be rewarded or penalized? It’s not too late to make the necessary corrections in your life to get right with God. Strive to live for Him and embody what He represents in your own life. Run the good race with Him alongside you…run all the way to the finish line where He will declare you victorious. The alternative is destruction. As I have said so many other times, the choice is yours to make. Choose wisely...choose Christ.

In Christ,

Mark
