CREATOR, BLESSER, PROVIDER

"God blessed them and said to them, "Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and over every living creature that moves on the ground." Then God said, "I give you every seed-bearing plant on the face of the whole earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it. They will be yours for food. And to all the beasts of the earth and all the birds of the air and all the creatures that move on the ground—everything that has the breath of life in it—I give every green plant for food." And it was so. God saw all that he had made, and it was very good. And there was evening, and there was morning—the sixth day." Genesis 1:28-31

Day 6. God created man and woman but He did so much more than just create them. The scripture verses above reveal the following:

1. He blessed them. Is there anything more longed for than being blessed by God? We learn that from the very beginning, God placed His blessing on males and females. The good news is that He has never stopped blessing us. Consider each day that you awake and draw breath. The Lord has blessed you with another day of life. His mercies (and blessings) are truly new every morning.

Question: Do you realize that you are truly blessed? You have been so since the dawn of created man and woman.

2. He allowed reproduction. Once God created male and female, he commanded that they "be fruitful and increase in number" so that they might "fill the earth". To accomplish this, He created male and female in a way which allowed them to reproduce other males and females to keep the earth populated. Thus childbirth came to exist just as it does today…and God’s command to "be fruitful and increase" continues to be carried out.

3. He cared for what He created. God didn’t just create male and female and then let them fend for themselves. He knew they would need nourishment to survive and so He gave them "every seed bearing plant on the face of the earth and every tree that has fruit with seed in it." And He just didn’t do this for male and female. Scripture tells us He did it for "everything that has the breath of life in it." God is truly the Great Provider.

So God is the Creator, the Blesser, and the Great Provider. He’s all these and so much more. How do you know Him in your life?

In Christ,

Mark
