The scriptures. May God bless the reading of His holy word.

His intent was that now, through the church, the manifold wisdom of God should be made known to the rulers and authorities in the heavenly realms, according to His eternal purpose that He accomplished in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Ephesians 3:10-11

This ends this reading from God's holy word. Thanks be to God.

The church changed with Jesus and did so in a major way.

Gone was any exclusion to salvation because of religious affiliation as what was once a restricted privilege to the Jews was now available to the Gentiles. All anyone needed to do to be saved by God was believe in Jesus, His Son, as Savior.

As a result, the Christian church began to be populated by all nationalities and its people. There was no barrier due to gender or socio-economic status or color. This was all a part of the Lord’s purpose, a purpose that revealed his manifold (multi-faceted) wisdom. When God said whoever believed in Jesus as Savior would gain eternal life He meant it.

Today, as we look at the church, it represents a rich diversity of people, even more so than in its earliest form. Its many parts are unique and yet one, different yet bound together by the same Christ who brings anyone who trusts in Him to His (and their) Father God.

To reinforce the beautiful variety of Jesus believers in the church and how God intended it to be that way, we see that the Greek word in the scriptures for manifold is polupoikilos which means of differing colors. Interwoven into the body of Christ are threads (Christians) who are woven into a beautiful tapestry, unified and united by the one true God through His Savior Son Jesus.

As we go through every day, following the will of our Lord, let us remember how He intended and purposed the church through His amazing wisdom to be diverse, with the door to His narrow path for salvation open to anyone who chooses to enter in through faith in Christ.

Amen.

In Christ,

Mark
