The scriptures. May God bless the reading of His holy word.

To Him be honor and might forever. Amen.

1 Timothy 6:16d

This ends this reading from God's holy word. Thanks be to God.

God is supreme over all He has created, all things in Heaven and on earth. He is the singular, blessed Ruler who has no rival or equal, the King of all kings and Lord of all lords.

This sovereign God is immortal and has made the way through His Son Jesus for sinful humans to also gain salvation and eternal life, rescued from sure eternal destruction and damnation. So although He lives in unapproachable light and can’t be seen now, Christian believers will have the exclusive blessing of living with Him face to face while illuminated by His glorious light once ushered into His magnificent kingdom.

This is just a portion of what we have learned about the Maker and Master of all mankind in the just completed four part series, The Qualities of God, a series that should lead us to proclaim the same words as the Apostle Paul as He write in the sixth chapter of 1 Timothy:

To Him be honor and might forever. Amen. v.16d

Although we serve a God who rules in all supremacy over all creation, He isn’t distant from His people, from those He created. Rather, God is omnipresent and omniscient, two other important qualities. He is everywhere and knows all things. Period. No one else is like Him or can do what He can do.

He also is omnipotent which means He is all powerful. Think about that for a moment.

Our God possesses a power that is infinite. It has no limits and there is nothing beyond the work of His almighty hands. Therefore, there is nothing He can’t accomplish if He wishes to do so. Nothing.

There’s no problem we will go through that He can’t solve.

There’s no heart break we can go through that He can’t stitch together.

There’s no illness or affliction that He can’t heal or bring us through.

And there’s no sin that He can’t forgive.

With our God, there isn’t one single thing that is impossible for Him to do. He routinely makes the seemingly improbable probable.

All present. All knowing. All powerful. And let’s add one more “all” to this list:

All loving, for no one loves us as perfectly as He does.

Friends, we have no one in our life like God and this is why He and He alone deserves and warrants every single ounce of our admiration, glory, and praise. Every day, we need to lift up His holy name, the name above all names, and celebrate all that He has been, all that He is, and all He is yet to be on our lives. For we would be nothing without Him and dead in our sin had He not cared for us enough to give up His one and only Son.

So let us follow the lead of Paul and offer our Almighty God all the honor, now and forever more.

Amen.

In Christ,

Mark
