The scriptures. May God bless the reading of His holy word.

He came and preached peace to you who were far away and peace to those who were near. For through Him we both have access to the Father by one Spirit.

Ephesians 2:17-18

This ends this reading from God's holy word. Thanks be to God.

Ask most people where they would like to go after death and I believe they would say Heaven. With this, I believe there is a universal hope that there is a better place to abide forever after death, a place where one would find God.

The good news is that this possibility exists for every single person in the world, despite where they might live with the emphasis on the word “possibility”.

This is because entrance to Heaven has one central requirement and it has nothing to do with how good a person was in life. In other words, there isn’t a to-do list of things that must be done to earn a place in Heaven. All one needs to do is simply believe in Jesus. Nothing more, nothing less.

Jesus spells this out in two places, both in the Gospel of John:

First, this from John 3:16:

For God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.

And then to reinforce that getting to Heaven and abiding with God forever depended on Him, Jesus said this in John 14:6:

“No one comes to the Father except through Me.”

No one means no one. No one gets to Heaven to enjoy everlasting life with God unless they first believe in Jesus for He is the only Way, the Gateway every single person will pass through. The sole way to the Father is via the Son.

Note that there is no preferential treatment for any one nationality or race or religion or gender over another. All have common access to salvation through Jesus who came and preached peace for all, a shared peace gained through a central, holy Peacemaker.

Don’t let anyone try to convince you that there are various options to gain Heaven. The only way there is through Jesus and my prayer is that all will place their hope, faith, and trust in Him as Savior.
