THE PATH TO PROSPERITY AND HEALTH

Can I pray for you in any way? Send any prayer requests to OurChristianWalk.com.

In Christ, Mark

The scriptures. May God bless the reading of His holy word.

My son, do not forget my teaching, but keep my commands in your heart, for they will prolong your life many years and bring you peace and prosperity.

Let love and faithfulness never leave you; bind them around your neck, write them on the tablet of your heart. Then you will win favor and a good name in the sight of God and man.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight.

Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and shun evil. This will bring health to your body and nourishment to your bones.

Honor the Lord with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops; then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine.

Proverbs 3:1-10

This ends this reading from God's holy word. Thanks be to God.

I think I can say one thing with relative confidence regarding our attitudes about life.

Most of us want to experience some form of prosperity and we want to be in good health as we do. At some time or another, we will all pursue one or the other or both. Some will find their way to them, others will not mostly because they are looking in all the wrong places.

Thank goodness we have God’s word to guide and lead us. Specifically, let’s look at the opening words from Proverbs, Chapter 3 to see how we can achieve prosperity and health in life:

This scripture offers us steps we need to take to find our way to prosperity and health. The very path we need to follow involves us doing the following:

1. Never forget the Lord’s teaching and keep His commands in your heart.

When we embrace the teaching and guidance of the Lord, God’s word promises that we will prolong our lives and find prosperity. Prolonged life only comes from being healthy, healthy enough to live long and well, long and well enough to enjoy the prosperity that God provides.

2. Let love and faithfulness never leave.

When we remain in the Lord through our faithful trust in Him, then His love will abide in our heart, mind, and soul – and not just any love but the very love of the Lord, a love that never fails (1 Corinthians 13:8a) and is ever present.

3. Do not be wise on your own. Trust in the Lord with all your heart. Lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways, acknowledge Him.

In return for this spiritual loyalty, the Lord will make sure the path we travel on is straight. And as we walk it during each day the Lord blesses us with, He will bring health and nourishment to your body, preparing you for every good work He calls you to.

4. Honor the Lord with your wealth. Always give Him your first fruits or your best before anything else.

I don’t know if you have experienced this like I have but whenever you freely give what God has given to you in a way that meets the needs of others, the Lord in turn ensures that you have what you need to live, and often this comes in the form of abundance. The more we give, it seems the more the Lord provides us, knowing we are going to be good stewards of what He provides. Give the Lord your best and trust that you will experience His best in return.

And there you have it, the path to prosperity and health. The journey takes you through the Lord’s teaching and commands, through showing consistent love and faithfulness, through relying solely on the Lord’s wisdom and knowledge for understanding, and through giving back the best parts of what God blesses you with.

My prayer for you this day and always is that you will find and revel in the goodness of the Lord God Almighty, the One who grants us every good and perfect thing from above, heavenly gifts which include prosperity and health.

Amen.

In Christ,

Mark
