The scriptures. May God bless the reading of His holy word.

But God’s word is not chained.

All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.

2 Timothy 2:9b. 3:16-17

This ends this reading from God's holy word. Thanks be to God.

As Paul was imprisoned in Rome, he didn’t stop working for the cause of the Gospel. For although he was in chains, he knew one important truth.

God’s word can never be shackled.

It’s true, right?

The best selling book of all time is the Holy Bible, the inerrant Word of the eternal, omnipotent God of Creation, the Maker and Master of all things.

People have come and gone. Empires have risen and fallen. Philosophies have gained popularity only to fade away and be replaced by others. But the scriptures have endured since their inception and always will until that time when Jesus returns to judge the world for good, separating the sheep from the goats to determine who lives forever in Heaven and who will suffer eternal damnation and torment in Hell.

Indeed, God’s word is as everlasting as He is. Through the ages, there have been attempts to subdue it, even to ban it, but none of those efforts have been successful. The scriptures remain the only collection of words that are “God-breathed” and “useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work”. From generation to generation, Christian believers have not only learned about their God and His Son Jesus, the Savior of the world, but also about their expectations for godly, righteous living. Reading the Word of God equips the reader to be a servant of God who is able to carry out every good work God desires.

Why do I answer God’s call to write every day?

Because I am committed and devoted to Him and His Word, and it has been His will for me to write these messages using the words He provides, both in print from the Bible and via the influence of His Holy Spirit. I pray He blesses you daily through what He does through me and I hope you will be encouraged as I am by the truth that His Word will always persevere and never be chained, no matter how hard the devil might try.

Amen.

In Christ,

Mark
